Dr. Donald W. Wise, AA, DDS, BH, and Mr. Michael P. Branigan, BA, MBA are both senior, seasoned veterans in the commercial real estate industry, performing exceedingly well in a variety of market cycles over the last forty-two (42) years. During a thirty-five (35) year professional relationship with our business partner and fellow Cornellian, Michael P. Branigan, we have been involved in approximately $10.9 Billion of advisory, consulting, transactional execution, financing placement, bankruptcy and workout engagements, including expert witness, for hotel and resort transactions and financings. We have collectively been involved in advisory, consultant, or transactional role in approximately $9.0 B of workouts, restructurings, lender-owned real estate, lender owned notes, and bankruptcy in the hospitality space.

As the Co-founder and Senior Managing Director of Turnbull Capital Group, Dr. Wise co-shepherds our regional boutique investment banking firm located in Santa Monica and Newport Beach, California, with our Co-founder and Senior Managing Director, Brian R. MacLeod, JD, MBA, CPA, CFA.

Dr. Wise skills were honed precisely and meticulously over a twenty (20) consecutive year career at CB Richard Ellis, Inc. (“CBRE”) in the Newport Beach and Anaheim offices, resigning as a First Vice President. This was during the era when the firm became the world’s largest commercial real estate services firm. The firm grew from approximately 3,300 employees to approximately 90,000 employees during his tenure with the firm.

He closed over approximately $2.5 Billion of hotels and resorts (please see CB Commercial International Investment Team attachment and CBRE tombstones on our Website). Dr. Wise was the creator, architect and founder of the firm’s Lodging & Hospitality Services Investment Banking Group in the 1980’s (we had not sold a hotel since our founding in 1906), which became today’s CBRE Hotels in August of 2014. Dr. Wise created a world-class hospitality business platform a second time in 2007 as the Founder of the Global Hospitality Industry commercial lending practice for CMBS, bridge, mezzanine, preferred equity and long-term senior hospitality debt at Johnson Capital, now Walker & Dunlop
